GRIP is an AI training coach operated by Inger Ekman in Sweden. This page explains what happens to information you share when you sign up for the beta or use the app.
What information does GRIP use?
- Beta signup: your email address, chosen platform, current training frequency, training goal and whether you have worked with a personal trainer. We also record the status of your signup and beta access.
- Training in the app: the workouts, notes, preferences and other training information you enter are stored locally on your device so the coach can remember your context.
- AI coaching: when you ask the coach a question, your message and the context needed to answer it are sent to an external AI service for processing. Information you choose to include may describe your health or physical limitations.
- Feedback: if you use the feedback form, we receive what you write and any contact preference you provide so we can review it and, if you agree, follow up.
Why do we use it?
We use signup details to manage beta access and send you the app link, beta code and practical information about testing GRIP. We use coaching requests to respond to you and help plan or adapt sessions. We use feedback to find problems and improve the app. These uses are connected to the beta service you requested and our interest in making it work well. You can choose what training and health details to share with the coach; please avoid including information you do not want sent for processing.
Where is the information kept and who receives it?
Your training history is stored on your device. It does not mean every interaction stays on your device: coaching requests and relevant context leave the device when you use the AI coach. Beta signup data is stored by the site and shared with Loops, the service used to manage beta emails. The site uses hosting and database services to process signups. Information is shared with service providers only to operate GRIP, communicate with testers and process coaching requests.
If you remove the app or clear its local data, you may lose training history stored on that device. Removing the app does not automatically delete a beta signup, an email already sent, or feedback you submitted.
How long do we keep it?
We keep beta signup and feedback information while it is needed to run and evaluate the beta, respond to you and handle any related requests. We then delete or anonymize it when it is no longer needed. You can ask us to delete information associated with your email address sooner. Local training data remains on your device until you remove it, clear the app’s data or uninstall the app, subject to your device’s backup settings.
Your choices and rights
You can request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information we hold about you. You may also ask us to restrict or object to some processing. If you no longer want beta emails, reply to one of them and tell us. To make a privacy request, reply to any GRIP beta email from the address you signed up with. We may need to verify that the address belongs to you before acting on a request. If you are in the EU or EEA, you can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority; in Sweden, that is IMY.
Changes to this policy
As the beta develops, we may update this page when GRIP’s data handling changes. The date above shows when it was last revised.
